Last-Mile Delivery Methods in E-Commerce: Does Perceived Sustainability Matter for Consumer Acceptance and Usage?

Sustainability has gained significant importance in e-commerce, as it impacts both consumer behavior and company success. This paper contributes to the literature on sustainability e-commerce by studying perceived of three common last-mile delivery methods (home delivery, parcel lockers, click collect) other drivers consumers’ acceptance each method (perceived costs, convenience). Based a review relevant literature, conceptual model integrating key determinants attitudes their intention use them is derived tested using sample 536 German online buyers. The results demonstrate that ease usefulness increase methods, whereas costs constrain it. findings reveal influences which vary between its components (environmental, economic, social) regarding method. Retailers collaborating services are advised continue making more convenient. However, they also implement standards terms environmental social inform customers about efforts sustainable build competitive advantage omni-channel retailing.
